Antiphony was founded in the fall of 2008 as a self-directed group of 10 singers. Motivated by their shared passion for choral music and their desire to communicate that enthusiasm with audiences across Winnipeg, Antiphony performs from a diverse and exciting range of musical styles and genres.

In 2010, Antiphony released their debut extended play album titled "Point in Space". In 2011, "Point in Space" was nominated for 2 Contemporary Acapella Recording Awards including "Best Canadian Album" and "Best Classical Recording" for "I am the Great Sun".

Antiphony's 4th annual Spring Concert will be featured at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on April 28, 2012. The group has been refining their new repertoire since the fall of 2011. They have particularly enjoyed taking this time to experiment with various musical styles and explore the vast potential of the human voice. They would like to share these musical experiences with their community. Having collectively selected and self arranged their musical selections, Antiphony will perform a diverse array of genres and styles in several sets including traditional acoustic sets and others that will be amplified through the use of vocal microphones, all sung in 10 voice acapella.
